D&AD Awards 2018: McCann Worldgroup, FCB win three Pencils for India on day one

The colour of the Pencils will be announced at the award ceremony on April 26. A total of 184 Pencils have been awarded on the first day of judging across nine categories

McCann Worldgroup India and FCB India have won three Pencils for India on day one of judging for the D&AD Awards 2018. McCann Worldgroup won two Pencils for its campaign Immunity Charm for the Ministry of Public Health Afghanistan in PR and Creativity for Good categories.

FCB India’s No Conditions Apply-Sindoor Khela campaign done for The Times of India won a Pencil in the Experiential category.

While the Pencil winners are being announced alongside judging, the entrants will have to wait until the Award Ceremony at the Truman Brewery, London this Thursday, April 26, to find out which colour Pencil (Wood, Graphite, Yellow or Black) they’ve won.

So far, the Top 5 ranking countries by number of Pencils won are:

  1. United States - 55 Pencils
  2. United Kingdom - 34 Pencils
  3. Japan - 20 Pencils

     4. France, Germany - 11 Pencils

The Top 5 ranking companies so far, by number of Pencils are:

  1. DENTSU - 10 Pencils
  2. BBDO New York - 8 Pencils
  3. McCann New York, Jung von Matt - 6 Pencils

     5.  AMVBBDO - 5 Pencils

The total number of Pencils awarded in each category are:

  • Collaborative - 5 Pencils
  • Writing for Design - 7 Pencils
  • Outdoor Advertising - 14 Pencils
  • Creativity for Good - 16 Pencils
  • Experiential - 22 Pencils
  • Crafts for Design - 28 Pencils
  • PR - 30 Pencils
  • Crafts for Advertising - 30 Pencils
  • Film Advertising - 32 Pencils
